With Father’s Day right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to honor great Dads and Father Figures everywhere.
Being a great dad isn’t always easy! Being quick with the perfect dad joke or pun, wrench in hand to fix that leaky faucet, words of wisdom for almost every situation and of course love and discipline to help you grow. With the spirit of Father’s Day in mind, Sam The Concrete Man would like to highlight a few Dads that continue to shape the lives of their children through franchise ownership.
First up is Glenn, owner of Sam The Concrete Man Tulsa, husband and proud father of two. Glenn’s oldest son, Josiah graduated from college about three months after launching the business. During that initial opening period, Josiah and his father had discussed the potential that he would join his dad and help run the family business. This father and son duo has proven to be a tremendous success.
Glenn trained his son on the day-to-day operations of Sam The Concrete Man Tulsa and Josiah excelled at these tasks at such a quick pace. Josiah now runs the day-to-day operations while Glenn manages the business from an upper level.
Glenn is so proud that his son rose to the challenge of running a business, “It is extremely gratifying. We have a great relationship and because we know each other so well, we can accent each other’s strengths and weaknesses. The opportunity to build something together is truly satisfying. Having the privilege to work with my son has been a great experience and is an honor!”
The father and son duo make great memories while working together.
Josiah had a great one to share, “when we ride together to go do estimates or follow-ups we will laugh about the most random things. A funny line that I remember he said a few months ago is when Josiah texts me a picture while working it’s never a good sign.”
Thanks for being a great Dad, Glenn!
Sam The Concrete Man creates amazing opportunities for Fathers to work with their children and continue their legacy. Sam The Concrete Man North Georgia and owner Mike Bright is another wonderful example of a great dad providing opportunities for his children through business ownership.
Mike, father of Nick and Wilson Bright, has taken his sons under his wing teaching them the ins and outs of owning a business. Mike and sons have found so much success in STCM, he decided to expand his business by opening a second STCM location in West Atlanta — Sam The Concrete Man Atlanta.
Mike has taught his sons so well that Nick and Wilson are at the point in the business where they are running their own estimates, managing relationships with subcontractors, and managing jobsites.
Mike has mentioned, “We have a lot of fun working together; I love it when they get excited about selling a new driveway or patio. It has been a lot of fun to see them on the job sites with the guys and to teach them about concrete. I have also enjoyed seeing them build their own relationships with their own subcontractors. They are my legacy, and I am very proud of them and all that we have accomplished together.”
These Dads have shown that owning a Sam The Concrete Man franchise creates opportunity to teach your kids how to manage day-to-day business operations, deliver amazing customer service, and develop professionals in the concrete industry. What a great opportunity to grow your business not only for yourself, but for your family legacy.
Thanks to all the great Dads and Father Figures out there – We appreciate everything you do!
